MUSIC TECHNOLOGY: A Level
Subject Leader: Mr J Bridges
Course Content: In this course you will learn about the technical side of producing music. In the age we live in, very rarely will you hear a recording that has not been manipulated in one way or another. We look at production techniques, effects, digital and analogue recording, sequencing, scoring, arranging and the use of computers.
A great deal of the year will be spent working on the large coursework requirements for which you will be required to give up time after school and at weekends in order to make use of the facilities undisturbed.
We will study set pieces from a wide variety of popular music since the era of recording began. Much of this music you will be already familiar with, and I am sure that looking at this music in a different light will only increase your enjoyment of it.
Time will be spent using the Apple Mac computers in the Music room as well as portable multitrack recorders and the newly installed Recording Studio.
