To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the school we applied to take part in the global art Inside Out Project set up by world renowned street artist JR. Inspired by JR’s large‐format street “pastings”, INSIDE OUT gives everyone the opportunity to share their portrait and make a statement for what they stand for. It is a global platform for people to share their untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art. Each INSIDE OUT group action around the world is documented, archived and exhibited online. Over 260,000 people have participated in 129 countries. The INSIDE OUT project has travelled from Ecuador to Nepal, from Mexico to Palestine, inspiring group actions on varied themes such as hope, diversity, gender-based violence and climate change.

We are pleased to announce that our application was successful and we are extremely excited about taking part in the project. As a school we have been granted 60 prints, one for each of the schools 60 years. We will be ‘pasting’ these large prints on the school site and want to display the whole Challoner community, 40 pictures from Year 7 to Year 13 as well as 20 staff pictures.
Since selecting only 40 pupils would be extremely difficult we have decided to run a raffle to make the process fair and also to help raise a little money for a local cause, Momentum Children’s Charity. This charity does fantastic work for children a terminal illness, for more information visit www.moment-um.org. Each ticket will be £1 (you can make multiple entries) and will give you the opportunity of being selected for this great project. We will be selecting the winning tickets in the first week back after half term and hope to have the project up early in the new year. The deadline for entries is Monday 4th November. If you wish your son or daughter to participate please use ParentPay in the usual way.
I hope you agree that this is an extremely exciting project and a great way to celebrate the 60th Anniversary.
