Welcome to Richard Challoner School, a highly successful Catholic comprehensive school for boys aged 11-18 which has been serving the local Catholic community since 1959. The school is a DCSF designated High Performing Specialist Technology College & Centre for Applied Learning and is heavily oversubscribed, with 4 applicants for each of the 132 places available each September. The school has grown considerably in recent years and now has 930 students on roll, including 225 in the Sixth Form, which is federated with Holy Cross School in New Malden. The catchment area for the school is now less than 6km and priority is given to boys attending one of 8 local Catholic primary schools.
At the heart of the school is its distinctive Catholic Ethos, which in turn is supported by the excellent relationships which exist between the staff and the students. A shared vision for the school is supported by the staff, students, parents and governors, which has created a very strong caring and cohesive community based on the Christian values of love, respect and compassion for others.
The school enjoys a very low staff turnover and is able to attract and retain well qualified and committed specialist teachers and staff. The school has excellent facilities and has recently benefitted from a £6 million capital development. The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED, by Kingston LA and by the Archdiocese of Southwark.
Further details and information about the school can be found in the school prospectus, which can be obtained from the school office or downloaded from this website.
