House Art Evening 11th October 2018

This year’s House Art evening event will be taking place on Thursday 11th October 2018  3.30pm-6.00pm in the main school hall. As in previous years, along with the House Competition there will be a whole host of creative and fun activities taking place for everyone to take part in. This includes therapeutic colouring in, doodle stations, finger print drawing, still life drawing, mono-printing and much more.

The evening is always a lovely opportunity for the community to come together and have some fun. I hope to see as many pupils and parents as possible and please feel free to bring older and younger siblings, grandparents or anyone else who you feel may be interested.

Drawing and Art is for everyone, and everyone is welcome!

Logo Design Competition

To coincide with House Art, and further celebrate our local community, we are also running a Logo Design competition for all pupils to enter. Pupils simply need to produce a Logo for the Malden Manor Community Hub. The Malden Manor Community Church will be taking over the vacant small shop just inside Malden Manor Railway Station with the intention of making it a ‘Community Hub’- a space that different organisations within the local community can use for the benefit of local people.

Three local schools, including Challoner, have be asked to design a logo to be used on the shop-front and on any paperwork or publicity associated with it. This a great opportunity to develop your design skills and create something to be used in the community. The design needs to incorporate the idea of community and the local area, while including the text Malden Manor Community Hub. The design can be created in any medium, such as pen, pencil, ipad, paint etc.

The winning design will be submitted for selection and hopefully used for this exciting project. The winner will also receive a £20 Amazon voucher. Designs for this competition need to be submitted to Mr Bailey by Wednesday 17th October at the latest. The winner will be announced in the first School assembly after half-term.
