Here at Richard Challoner School, we take great pride in our appearance. We expect students and staff to be presentable and have a good ‘First Impression’. The Xavier Centre students have an adapted uniform to the rest of the school, in line with the different vocational subjects they take part in. We strive for students to be smart at all times, but equally comfortable in what they wear. Below is an outline of the school uniform expectation.
Please note, students are allowed to wear smart/casual clothing on a Friday only. This is to replicate the style they would wear in a College/working environment. Some students with MLD find it difficult to manage their decision making skills and select appropriate clothing for the setting (due to changes in the weather or formality of the activity). Every Friday, provides a great opportunity to exercise their independence and ability to make appropriate choices.
As a Centre we do many on and off site PE activities such as visiting The Kia Oval Cricket Ground (Disabilities Day) and St Mary’s University (SEND Project). Therefore, we like students to wear the following PE kit which falls in line with the rest of the school.
