Consultation - Sixth Form Admissions Policy 2027/2028

This is important correspondence relating to admissions; The Governing Body of Richard Challoner School is consulting on the proposed admissions arrangements for Sixth Form entry in 2027/2028. The consultation period will run for a period of 6 weeks from Friday 12 December 2025 to Friday 23 January 2026.
The Governing Body proposes the following change:
PROPOSED
Preferred Courses
Please note that the school cannot guarantee that a student will be able to study their preferred course(s). Where a course is heavily oversubscribed, places will be allocated according to these over-subscription criteria. Where insufficient numbers request a course, the course may be withdrawn.
CURRENT
Preferred Courses
Please note that the school cannot guarantee that a student will be able to study their preferred course(s). Where a course is heavily oversubscribed, places will be allocated based on GCSE points score, with the highest scoring students receiving preference for places on a course. Where insufficient numbers request a course, the course may be withdrawn.
