Vacancy - Science Technician (Physics)

Our Science Department is seeking to appoint a Physics Technician to join their team of three, who support the delivery of effective teaching and learning within the Science department.

The role requires you to set up and maintain equipment for practical lessons, and to organise resources and materials for lessons across the age range including GCSE and A-level classes. Your primary focus will be to support Physics with support of all sciences.

You should have previous experience in a laboratory environment with the technical ability to be able to effectively support the Department’s needs. It is essential that you have an understanding of practical physics with the knowledge and skills to prepare solutions, together with a basic understanding of health and safety in a laboratory environment.  The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks in the holidays.
