In Design and Technology at Richard Challoner, we are committed to providing an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject which works within a supportive, caring Christian community. By nurturing student’s creativity and design skills we hope to develop the autonomous problem solvers of the future. Our proactive approach helps to engage students and develop high achieving learners who produce quality outcomes in a variety of formats. Our focus is upon giving our students the tools, knowledge and information they need to become more effective, more experienced and more efficient. This is achieved through imaginative teaching and learning, that embraces new technologies, whilst retaining the best of traditional practice. Our focus is influenced and underpinned by contemporary design practice, particularly in areas relating to STEM. Above all we aim to encourage a respectful, creative and innovative atmosphere, which allows students to take risks in a safe and positive environment, all of which is underpinned by secure knowledge and understanding.
