Admissions Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at Richard Challoner School, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel, which is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority.

If you wish to appeal, please complete the Appeal Form provided below and return it to the school no later than Friday 8th April 2022.

The Education Commission (Southwark Diocese) has provided advice, also below, regarding the appeals process, which you may find useful prior to completing the appeal form.

Timetable for appeals for a place in Year 7 to start in September 2022:

  • Deadline for appellants to lodge appeal forms is Friday 8th April 2022. You must state the reasons for your appeal and supply any documentary evidence or supporting material at this stage.
  • Stage 1 – the school statement presentation - will take place virtually on Tuesday 24th May 2022 at 6:00pm.
  • Stage 2 - individual private hearings - will take place either face to face in the school or virtually on Wednesday 25th May 2022 from 10:00am.
  • The invitation letter giving details about your hearing and the deadline for providing any further evidence will be sent by the Clerk to the Independent Appeals Panel at least 10 school days before the Stage 1 hearing.
  • Decision letters will be issued, wherever possible, within five school days of the hearings.
