New World’s Tallest Statue of Jesus

"Indonesia has unveiled the world’s tallest statue of Jesus Christ, standing at 200 feet atop Sibeabea Hill in North Sumatra province.

The monumental figure overlooks Toba Lake and is over 60 feet taller than Christ the Redeemer in Brazil.

Named “Jesus Christ the Savior,” the statue was inaugurated on September 19 by Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, president of the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference."

Question to ponder: What significance is there for this statue being in Indonesia?
